Hi! my name is Arie_Alchemy! I'm a former Fungineer for the theme park industry with a focus in fabrication and textiles.I have a Bachelor's in Fine Arts with a focus in printmaking and print media and I've spent the last ten years designing and building everything from wall coverings in commercial buildings to the staging of props and conceptual storytelling in themed environments throughout the United States with a crew of very talented individuals.
After COVID-19, the entertainment/theme park industry took a major dive and contract work dried up. I switched roles from working in the art and design industry to commercial construction. Now I use my art skills for myself, and I spend most of my free time making art and building cool stuff.
I'm also the former owner of Hedera Fibers and Apparel, a textile mill stationed in the Midwest. Starting in 2011 I started a project to replicate James Hargreaves invention the "spinning jenny". This is a device that allows a person to spin several yarns at once using a manually operated gear train. I modified the design by adding a computer operated gear box that i programed to spin yarn without human help. with it i launched a business that operated for eleven years up until the begining of 2020. The pandemic shut down the many fairs and festivals that i relied on to reach my customer base and i eventually, in 2023 closed shop for good.
Recently, starting in 2024 i started my newest journey as a twitch streamer~* I already had a following from my previous ventures and had some instructional videos that i had posted on the youtube page. But i decided to make this a more personal exploration and pivot my art style from being mostly traditional to being a cartoony and fun style that I find more enjoyable. I began by creating the OC Arie_Alchemy; an alchemist witch and her many marvelous friends. And as things tend to happen with me~ I started on a whole new project of fleshing out characters and locations for an eventual comic (forth coming).
